Scholarship Opportunities

Bayside Christian College provides a wide range of learning opportunities to enable students to discover their God-given purpose in life.  

As part of this commitment, the College awards scholarships based on the strength of the candidate’s scholarship application, previous school reports, the scholarship test and interview.

In addition, all scholarship recipients must demonstrate a strong commitment to the College's values.

To support students in their education and faith, Bayside Christian College offers the following:

All scholarship tests are conducted in partnership with Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER).

Application Cost

Registration Fee is $140 (including GST) per scholarship test payable upon registration through ACER.

Scholarships 

Academic Excellence Scholarship
Academic Excellence Scholarships are available for students entering Years 7 and 10 in 2026
 
Candidates must be high achieving students who excel academically and who will also contribute to the school in many other areas. Academic Excellence Scholarships are subject to continuing academic performance and contribution to the life of the College.
 
Who Can Apply?
Applications for Academic Excellence Scholarships are open for new students and students currently enrolled at Bayside Christian College in Years 6 and 9 in 2025.

Faith Scholarship

Faith Scholarships are available for students entering Year 9 in 2026

The scholarship provides an avenue for students to excel academically while deepening their spiritual foundation. By integrating faith-based values into their education, students can gain knowledge and develop character, integrity and a sense of purpose.

Scholarship candidates must be able to demonstrate academic promise and involvement in their church community and genuine Christian leadership.

This scholarship is subject to continuing academic performance, contribution to their faith and the life of the College.

Who Can Apply?

Applications for Faith Scholarships are open to new students and students currently enrolled at Bayside Christian College in Year 8 in 2025.

Association Scholarship

Association Scholarships are available for new students entering Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 in 2026.

The Association Scholarship is a means-tested scholarship which provides a select number of new families, who might not otherwise have the means, to enrol at Bayside Christian College with full remission of tuition fees.

This scholarship is reviewed annually.

Who Can Apply?

Applications for Association Scholarships are open to new students who are in Years 6, 7, 8 and 9 in 2025.

How to Apply

Please follow and complete the steps below:

Register for a Scholarship Test

To apply for a scholarship at Bayside Christian College, parents/carers must complete the ACER online registration. 

Scholarship Communication
All scholarship applicants will receive an email two weeks prior to the Scholarship Academic Test with further instructions including the location of the test.
Day of the Scholarship Academic Test
The ACER Scholarship Academic Test will be held at Bayside Christian College between 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday 15 February 2025. There are no provisions for walk-in candidates or late arrivals on the exam day. For sample questions and further information, visit the ACER website.

SCHOLARSHIP Interview
Once the College has received the ACER Scholarship Academic Test results, successful applicants will be shortlisted and invited for an interview.
Scholarship Offers
All applicants will be advised of the outcome by the end of Term 1, 2025. All decisions relating to scholarships are final. Scholarship offers are strictly confidential and must not be shared or discussed beyond your immediate family.  Individual results will not be shared with applicants.

How to Access Practice Tests

ACER has some practice material available for students. Please note that these tests do not entirely duplicate the examination material. To access ACER online practice tests: 
 
  • Register and log in to your Parent account www.scholarships.acer.org/
  • Click on the green ‘Practice Materials’ tab and then the ‘View Test’ link on the right hand side of the screen. 
  • Note that the online practice tests cannot be downloaded and must be completed onscreen.
  • To access ACER downloadable PDF practice tests: 
  • Log in to your Parent account. 
  • Click on the green ‘Practice Materials’ tab and then the ‘Download’ link on the right-hand side of the screen. You can then print this booklet. 

Frequently Asked Questions

 
Does Bayside Christian College offer a set number of scholarships each year?
The number of scholarships offered varies depending on the quality and strength of the application pool.

What is the typical value of scholarships offered?
The College typically offers scholarships ranging from 15% to 100% reduction in tuition fees.

Are means-tested scholarships available?
The College’s Association Scholarship is means-tested. The means-tested component is scaled and informed by personal and financial circumstances of families shared through the scholarship application process. 
 
Families will be asked to complete an additional financial assistance application and provide supporting documentation (e.g. tax returns). 
Financial assistance will be reviewed, and adjustments may be made should financial circumstances change significantly.
 
When do I find out about the outcome of my scholarship?
Successful shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview following the College receiving the test results. All applicants will be advised of the outcome of their scholarship application by the end of Term 1, 2025.
 
Does the College provide feedback to unsuccessful applicants?
Due to the high volume of scholarship applications, the College does not provide individual feedback to students whose applications have not been successful. 

How do I accept a scholarship offer?
Successful applicants will be sent a letter of offer via email. To formally accept, applicants will be required to sign the acceptance letter and return the paperwork to the College.

Does the College offer scholarships to more than one child in a family?
No. Only one scholarship may be awarded per family. 

Can I apply for more than one scholarship type?
Yes. Students may apply for a number of different scholarships if they meet the selection criteria.
